Etape Caledonia Travel

Road
Pitlochry is 26 miles north of Perth on the main A9 trunk road to Inverness. The A9 links with the motorway network at Perth giving easy access from the south.

Please be aware that road closures will be in place on event day - Road Closures

The event is working together with Traffic Scotland this year to help make your travel to the event as smooth as possible. The Traffic Scotland website provides a dedicated real-time traffic and travel information service including useful information on public transport options to help you plan your journey in advance. It will keep you updated during the event with all the latest traffic and travel news including Live Eye Camera views on the strategic road network and a Twitter service to report incidents on the move. This partnership reflects the organisers commitment to support trouble free travel to the event and ensure we are good neighbours to those not attending. For up to date travel info please visit www.trafficscotland.org. The key is to check regularly for updates.

Car Parking
For Registration on Saturday 12th May, the event car park (Pitlochry Recreation Ground, Ferry Road) will be open from 08:30 – 22:00 and parking will be free of charge.

For event day on Sunday 13th May, the event car park will be open from 04:45 – 18:00. Vehicles will be charged a £5.00 parking fee. You can pre-purchase a parking space at the reduced rate of £4.00.

Please note that parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the increased number of participants at this year’s event, parking is limited and we strongly advise pre-purchasing to ensure you get a space. If you do not pre-purchase your parking, please bring the correct change to pay on the day although please note that this will not guarantee you a parking space.

From the event car park, it is then a short walk to the Start on Atholl Road.

On event day, please ensure you arrive as early as possible to park as queues are likely due to the large volume of cars and single access route into the event car park. Please also note the road closure timings on the event morning and plan your journey carefully. We also strongly encourage car sharing, or cycling to the start if you are staying locally, to help us reduce congestion on the day.
